Class: Mammalia Order: Carnivora Family: Ursidae Genus: Ursus Polar Bears are known to be the largest carnivores on Earth next to the Kodiak bears. These bears have massive skulls, neck and bodies with long legs aswell as large paws. Comparing to these large features they do have a short tail and ears. Polar bears live in whats known to be the Circumpolar North, meaning the parallel latitude north which marks the northernmost point at which the sun appears above the level of the horizon. Habitat:Polar Bears usually prefer areas that include annual ice, which is used for hunting in order for them to hunt for their primary prey which is ice seals. They also enjoy sea ice, ice islands, along or near coats meaning open waters with surrounding ice.
