Class: Mammalia Order: Carnivora Family: Ursidae Genus: Ursus The grizzly bear species (Ursus Actos Horribilis) is normally found in North America, Northern Asia and Europe. A number of the species contain different coloured fur ranging from a cream colour to a dark brown or nearly black. Each grizzly bear has large paws that have five digits with long claws that measure between 5-12cm. Due to their paws & structure they are considered plantigrade meaning that they walk on their paws flatly. In order for bears to obtain their food and create a habitat. They have a large hump on their shoulder that is mainly composed of muscle and fat. Grizzly bears also have very pronounced canine teeth for tearing meat. Their large, flat molars are made for grinding plant material. Despite their large size in structure, the grizzlies are quite fast and are known to run 30 miles an hour (48km). Grizzly bears are extremely dangerous to humans especially if caught around the mother or cubs. Habitat:Grizzly bears usually inhabit rich forests with plenty streams that can be found nearby. Known to live in North America, Northern Asia and partly Europe.
