Importance of Biodiversity
Biodiversity is very important to maintain viable ecosystems because biodiversity helps ecosystems run smoothly in the state that it helps ensure that the ecosystem remains as it were initially intended to be. In order for an ecosystem to be successful, everything within it must work accordingly. For example, the Chinese Giant Panda must ingest up to 12-16kg of bamboo each day in order to live. If the panda does not have any resource of bamboo available to it due to destruction of the ecosystem, the panda will not survive. In this case that the panda does not survive, extinction will occur decreasing the biodiversity in the world.
